Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a short term therapy, focusing on specific goals that a client brings. The main idea behind CBT is that our thoughts affect our feelings, and in turn our feelings affect how we behave. CBT can be used to treat many fears, phobias and habits as well as other compulsive behaviours; it challenges your thoughts and beliefs about a specific behaviour, allowing you to look at the negative thought patterns that start the cycle of your behaviour and lets you create a different solution.
Do you have a behaviour or a habit that you would like to change? Do you feel that you will benefit from reprogramming yourself to think more positively? CBT focuses on the present; together we will look at your behaviours and how they are affecting you now, we will look at what and how you think, and explore different options for moving forward.
